Scott- May I suggest going to Matt's LEGO Train Depot: (URL) , where you will find a wealth of info on your new purchase, including the answer to your question, which is that the blue track was available from 1966-1980; the gray track from (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains)
 
  Millisecond timing
 
I recently bought a Handy Board to use in acquiring time measurements varying by one millisecond. The Handy Board has a clock speed of 2kHz, therefore it should be able to measure down to one half millisecond. What I have found however is that the (...) My local Early Learning Centre (Welwyn Garden City) has further reduced its stock of ZNAP 3552 and 3571 sets to £7.50 and £8.50 respectively - apparently 50% of their normal retail. Both have 9V motors. Chris Dee (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
