Re: Mindstorms + LEGO 20% off

Re: RIS version 1.5 coming this fall

Well, I accually would feel the new RIS 1.5 will be just new firmware and software. Then maybe a different color casing (maybe the iMac deal with transparance) then just a new stamp on the case. Maybe a new feature like Proximity detection or a some (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Technic Box #1

How 'bout sending south to Texas. I've got alot of stuff to put in there, including a set of those old red/blue/yellow/white gears plus a bunch of beams and a few old instruction manuals.-Robert Phillips, Mineola TX (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

Re: RIS version 1.5 coming this fall

(...) You know, I think I'm starting to get nervous about this 1.5 business. Let's say they do happen to ship a 1.0->1.5 software compatability upgrade. The first question that comes to my mind is: Is the upgrade reversible or irreversible? Any why (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Serial line output

Just started to learn how to use my new HB. In going through the IC manual I could not find any routines for writing to the serial port. Rick- You are referring to one of Brian Williams' masterpieces: (URL) the risk of speaking for Brian, I can say simply that what he has done is wire the 9 volt motor to power the older 12 volt motor. I don't know *how* exactly, but this is what he (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: GMLTC at the NMRA National Convention

You know, this might be worthwhile for all of us to pursue. If a hundred people joined the NMRA as Lego Train modellers, that could really turn some heads. Might make some of the old-school modellers take another think. I personally think that Lego (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: GMLTC at the NMRA National Convention

Okay, so I'm alternating between stunned and discouraged. Beautuful photos, with wonderful detail, but my poor 4x8 display looks so small now. You guys's layout really is inspiring, though. My question is about picture #27. How is that engine/tender (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.trains)

ATV with rubber band suspension  [DAT]

I built this model last year and decided to post it. I put orthodontic rubber bands between the 1x1 plates with light holders to give the pivoting chassis some resistance. The result was a simple suspension system that works great for uneven (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: mars colony - team transport

Nice model! It's a great design, it's not overly large, just the right size. The color sceme isn't bad but, I think it would look better in the explorian color sceme. The thing I really like about it is the side doors and the way they are integrated (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)
