So there I was just emerging from my dark ages and there they were ... about a dozen of said set on the shelf... Interesting I say to myself and buy one... Well I get home and put it together. I then modified it with black wings and tail, a few (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: LEGO Star Wars Sets are Record Setting!

I was a little bit grumpy when I posted. Winnie the Pooh will probably be great for the Duplo market. It may even double the sale of Duplo... because I doubt that Duplo sets have stellar sales levels. And it follows my previous points 2&4: everytime (...)   Re: LEGO Star Wars Sets are Record Setting!

(...) Actually, I think Winnie the Pooh will be a big hit in the Duplo Market. My wife is certainly looking forward to the Pooh LEGO. (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Star Wars vs Titanic (humour)

I don't typically forward the humour spam that migrates through my in-box, but remembering the recent SW/Titanic threads a couple weeks ago, this caught my attention: Reasons Why Star Wars Is Better Than Titanic Titanic's big, but it doesn't have (...)   Re: new (to me) use for worms

(...) I've been up close and personal to a drive shaft. I had an old Chevy van which liked to get into 2nd & reverse at the same time (fortuanately always while stopped - because the vehicle will not go ANYWHERE in this condition, if it happened at (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: new (to me) use for worms

(...) Yes. (...) I did not know that. I've accepted over time that a number of things in car suspensions must work simply by having room to wiggle a bit, but that this particulalr problem is avoided *that* simply explains a lot. (Wait till you see (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: new (to me) use for worms

Just as an aside, this post made me do a double take before reading it... I was going "what?? Lego doesn't make worms, just snakes and scorpions" (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: new (to me) use for worms

(...) If I'm understanding the workings, what is being suggested is to use the worm as a slip coupling (which just happens to have a worm screw). If you look at a cars drive shaft, you will see that it is in two parts so that it can change length. (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: KTVU Offer for Lego Users Club

(...) What if (and this wouldn't solve the problem entirely, but may help) what if there were a straightforward way to extract a self-contained segment of rotating content (a hunk of HTML code, in other words) periodically from the lugnet.com (...)   Re: new (to me) use for worms

(...) Interesting idea. But in thinking about it (without actually prototyping), I have a problem. You propose to use the worm on the drive axle, right? And the idea is that the worm can slide a little bit to and fro to adjust for the axles movement (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.build)

  Ticklebot

Take a look at this - I reckon I'm a-gonna try and make a Lego one! RCX or Cybermaster? Hmm! (URL) a 'tickling robot' that crawls over one's body, gently tickling as it goes with its rubber pronged tracks. It tries not to fall off, apparently by (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Help ID door pieces

(...) I have that set as well (720) and I agree, it is not in the instructions. But I do have 3 of the white doors. One is from the 6377 I have (along with one blue airplane tail). But where the other two came from, I have no idea. I have absolutely (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

  Lab View

Hello I'm new to this group, and I don't have a RCX yet, I'm still saving, and reading as much as I can. And I have a couple of question. I see that RoboLab is an an interface over Lab view. Has anyone written anything is just Lab view 5 or is there (...) (27 years ago, 18-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Bit Stream Interface

Has anyone experimented with bit stream interfaces using the rotational sensor? Currently I'm trying to make somethinkg up, here are my ideas: I was looking for a way to transmit a series of binary data through an input port on the RCX. The problem (...)
