Re: The Lil' Critter and other assorted choo-choo goodies

(...) That is very nice. It looks like a lot of fun. What do you mean by "inside-bearing wheels"? Chris (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FOTW? No...this is the Find of my Life.....

(...) thanks for the follow up. sweet. I wish the sam's club near my house had them. They didn't even make the pre-christmas stock. Ben, who just won a 4561 off e-bay for 58, and thinks that is entirely a nice price for it. (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Ideas for Brickswest sessions

I completely agree with your statement that the builders at Legoland are cheating. I feel the same way about creations that use mostly special pieces instead of basic blocks and the CAD creations. I say this coming from the pre- Lugnet, pre-Lego (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: lsynthcp community development project setup on sourceforge

(...) Whoah, wait a minute! I like getopt() as much as anyone, but I thought we were talking about something to go *inside* the file on the SYNTH BEGIN line(s), not necessarily on the command line. Units may be universal for all synthesized parts in (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: What Process are Lego Bricks Manufactured With?

(...) We happened to be touring a factory in Billund on a day when they were making dark gray chains -- in fact, we brought some home, literally hot out of the machine. That said, we have no insights into the mystery of how they get formed except to (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: LEGO compatible bungee cord source?

(...) I have determined that the identical product (or something indistinguishably close) is available in 36 yard spools from JoAnn Fabrics and other retailers (though I have yet to find a store that has 1 or more full spools in stock). I contacted (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What Process are Lego Bricks Manufactured With?

This is probably of no help... but I shot a few pix of a "retired" 2x3 mold at Legoland CA this past summer... They are a bit blurry, but maybe I'll shoot a few more if I can make it out to BricksWest next month! Here are the links: (URL) that helps (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Motorized control of the 5120 polarity switch

(...) I beleived that too Tobbe - I expected lots of information on how to control a polarity switch like there is to control a pneumatic switch. I spent several hours seaching .robotics, .technic, and even the web and found nothing - only switches (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: Which 1x4x3 is better for skyscrapers: clear or transparent?

Blue panels are far superior in appearance, but be sure to not use blue bricks for your walls. Here's an example of blue panels in a skyscraper I did a while back.   Re: K

(...) Very nice. I've always been a fan of your "series" (the N is my favorite) but just recently got to be able to post, so... Anyway, I like the wheel-and-binocs combo, works very well despite the difference in curvature. (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: FOTW? No...this is the Find of my Life.....

Hi folks. Here's the full scoop...very likely a non-reproucable event. I found them at Sam's Club (in PERFECT condition), unmarked and unsigned...probably a return...and obviously considered a seasonal item based on the markdown. Happy hunting to (...)   Re: Some Ideas

(...) SMART (the Seattle-area Mindstorms club) has a list of robot challenges that you could look through. These are merely starting points, you'll have to come up with rules, and so on yourself, but it's a good place to look for ideas. (URL) David (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

My "Ultimate Collectors" interview: Thursday, January 30th!

Hey all, The date is set. A local film crew will be coming to my apartment to interview me and my collection. I'm EXCITED! I'll wear my Lugnet t-shirt, of course. I'll give you all the details at the meet in February. Hopefully by then I'll know (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: A newly discovered part that may be useful to trainheads, et al

(...) Hi Ray, That's not a bad idea! I ended up with about 20 of those after the clearance sales. I was thinking that there should be a good way to use them. I may have to try your method and see what I can do. Thanks for passing it on... Tom (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)
