  Re: LDraw in the Classroom?

(...) Hi Steven - This sounds great! I checked out your project pages, and watched the videos from the one competition - with the robot that climbed the box. Looks like you're doing some great stuff! I myself am not very into robotics, as it is not (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.edu)

What type of LUG marker? (was Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA)

Hm. Interesting thought. I'd prefer flags because they take up less real estate on the map (and if we have a lot of attendees from any given area, the map will be cluttered there.) But tiles would stay on more easily and would be less likely to get (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.org)

Re: I2C device for the RCX

Before starting the hacking,I did some tests whit this 'for-lus-delay', and I found the results better than expected. I found that this: for(long i=0;i<100000;i++); takes about 120ms, so one for lus takes 0.0012ms. I made a test program which first (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Spybots missoins (was Re: Packaging!)

(...) Mark is correct. I would be happy to begin a Spybotics Mission Trading Area on BimP. I am a fan and would love to see what types of missions could be created by the community. To begin, I think we need to provide mission objectives, mission (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Land mine robot

(...) Why underneath? A flat surface with paper discs taped down to represent mines would be fine. Then the light sensor could be used to detect them. After all, the point is really to find them without rolling over any while searching. You'd need (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Preview .dat and .ldr in Windows Explorer?

(...) A couple years ago I wrote something that created a popup window with the description of DAT/LCD files, like when you move the mouse over a Word or Excel file. You can try (URL) and see if it still works (I think the last OS I tried it on was (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: New Mosaic: Map of the USA

(...) Had I attempted to include DC, it would've resolved as nothing but another black dot. Before the fest, I'll likely find a location for it and place something there to mark its position. Besides, this is a map of the United States of America. (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: Land mine robot

(...) Why even use sand at all? If the challenge is for mine detection, use a flat surface, and have the mines be attached to the underside. This allows for very simple drive systems, and no surface clues to show for the mines, or possible bias by (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LDraw in the Classroom?

Hi Gustavo - Wow this sounds very interesting! I'd certainly like to see more of this. I'll send you an email with further inquiries. -Tim (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.edu)

  Re: Land mine robot

(...) I've just thought of an even better system. Build a two wheel robot with a turntable on the top over the centre of rotation. Attach an arm to the turntable which links back to the rear wheels. You can then turn the front part through 90 degree (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Land mine robot

(...) I'd say use sand, just don't use tracks because they clog up when turning. Use a four wheel chassis for stability with central pivot. Power only the front wheels and then independantly so you can steer. The rear wheels will then follow (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)
