  Re: Upcoming Family Trip

(...) This seems to be standard practice at most large US amusements these days (Amusement parks, zoos, stadiums, concert halls, etc. all have paid parking). Personally I like it since parking is on a per car basis. The family that shows up in 5 (...) (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.legoland, lugnet.legoland.california)

  Re: "spring cleaning" auction

(...) I'm certainly interested, and would be interested in used sets, after all, I play with my Lego, why pay a premium for MIB when I'll just open it up to leg godt. (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Crane pieces

Doh! I can't believe I forgot to clarify that... I am looking for Town themed cranes. (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Dave's TGV train

(...) Nice model. I've brought this up before.. I feel the train plates are too confining and I hardly ever use them. I do agree that they give a skirted look but the freedom I get to make any length I want and even to include various non (...) (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Crane pieces

You don't say if you want Technic or town-theme cranes. For Technic service pack #5284 includes a hook. It should be pretty easy to build the rest of the crane mechanism using normal Technic pieces, except for the string. You'll have to supply your (...) (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Does NQC support arrays?

Hari Wiguna <hari@mindvision.com> wrote in message news:FBx2nH.B42@lugnet.com... (...) Nope, it doesn't. This is due to a limitation in the RCX environment.   Re: LCD

(...) Scott, any 2x16 character display with the 1x14 pinout will work, although the display may end up oriented the wrong way. ie. away from the HB (if you see what I mean).   Mindstorms article in Forbes

Forbes has an article about Mindstorms at E3. There's some interesting stuff about movie effects people using Mindstorms for prototyping. (URL) you check the web site first?: (URL) (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Curved walls

Wow!!! ..... "mixed cylinder curving" ... I like the curved walls, but I love the "radiating chapel" effect that you built. What a great idea. More proof of the "power of the brick". Eric, I like how you took the problem of curving in LEGO, and (...) (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: 5151 Steep Sloped Bricks (45 deg)

This (and a "rarest piece" thread in lugnet.general) reminds me of a rare sloped brick piece that I'm sure some of you who have any 1960's LEGO will recognize, and that is a 2x2 regular sloped apex (peak) brick that instead of an "I" ridge line has (...) (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Yes, at least it makes a difference if the lines are drawn before or after the surrounding/contrasting color quads. LDraw (and LDLite) favor the earlier-drawn object, when two objects occupy the same space. Always draw edge-lines first. Steve (26 years ago, 18-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
