Hi, with all this talk of sonar, I thought I finally get to hooking mine up. All I get is 8". If I unplug it, I get 0". I'd swear I have it hooked up right. I got my 6811s from Allied Electorics - www.allied.avnet.com My LM052Ls came from Marshall - www.marshall.com For the Sharp IS1U60, I substituted the Sharp GP1U58Y. Phil, Let me tell you that when someone made the same suggestion to me I hade to reconsider the demolition of my beautiful (expensive!) HB. My solution is this.... Keith, On the ftp site under ???/contrib/kent/sonar there should be a file called sonartst.c This file tests the unit goven that you've included sonar.icb in the initial loading of library files. Does anyone know an easy way to replace the motor drivers on the handyboard with the 18200 chip from National Semiconductor? Hi, Does anyone have recent model #'s, part #'s, or suppliers for Hall Effect magnetic sensors that interface directly with the Handy Board. (...) I just looked back to the IR transmitter schematic... The 1K res + RED LED you see there is for the only purpose of having a visible feedback of IR transmission. Does anyone have experience using a Truly MCC162A1-2 16x2 LCD? I bought one from Wirz electronics for the handyboard. (...) How are you gonna get 100 ma through a 1k resistor biased by 5volts?? The max would be 5ma. I have *never* heard of a LED this size that can handle more than 20ma!! This LED is tiny. I think it must better be a darlinghton and it must support enough current: if you want to get 0.1A or more pulsed current in the IR led, the transistor must have a rather high current gain, more than that of an ordinary npn trans (by the way (...)
