  Re: light sensor problem?

(...) In active mode, the value you read from the light sensor depends on how you power the sensor and read the A/D converters. In particular, the delay from the time you turn off the power to the sensor to the time you do A/D conversion matters. (...) (26 years ago, 21-Jul-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: Best Buys of Technic in Aus?

Being in the same situation (building up a Technics parts collection from nothing over the past year), I'd agree with David entirely on the merits of the 8480 Space Shuttle, 8448 Super Car Mark 2, and 8462 Pneumatic Tow Truck. I've bought all 3 and (...) (26 years ago, 21-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) Yes, of course you can't go thicker for airfoils with a supersonic aircraft, and of course making it thicker has no really disadvantages for a low speed aircraft (and also you should have to make it thick for these low speeds, to obtain (...)   IR Serial comms

I have recently come across an interesting IC being sold by RS Electronics in the UK. It is an IR transceiver IC which effectively gets connected to a normal serial UART and then just acts as though there was a physical cable in place. The IC does (...)   Re: Best Buys of Technic in Aus?

Another very good and useful post, thanks Kerry! I had wondered about some of the newer Technic sets being "juniorised" but I'd never taken enough notice of the detail before to be sure, some of them strike me as rather K-NEX like in style (those (...) (26 years ago, 21-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.au)
