New Part: Castle Shield with Black Falcon Pattern  [DAT]

I have taken the opportunity to split out the non-decorated surface into a subpart in line with current practice for decorated parts. For this part I have hardcoded the shield as grey, so that the part colour controls the border - blue or yellow. (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: How do I...

(...) I still have the 5571 on my desk, I hope I'll be able to take it apart with better success. Advice? (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Some Words To BFC

(...) This points out that ray traced renderings of the transparent version of these pieces will not render the refraction correctly. In the best of all worlds, the interior surface would be removed. For ray tracing, the model could be replaced with (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Taxes from Lego auctions?

(...) I gave the IRS a call about this since (as I'm sure most of you are aware) it's tax time and I wanted to know what to do with Lego income. The basic answer is that profits from selling sets (or parts) should be counted as capital gains, (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Another Point to Ponder ...

(...) Hi Mike, As one of the NELUG Brikwars-Fanatics, I wanted to pose a question to you, as the keeper of all knowledge arcane and sacred regarding the game. Actually, I just wanted to get your thoughts on an interpretation of the rules. Here's the (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: 5071 - What's it worth?

The short answer is, a lot. $30 sounds about right, although more likely an upper bound than a lower bound. I've seen them going for up to DM60, currently about $30. They're so sought-after because they (along with the classic large red spoked (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

  Re: Taxes from Lego auctions?

(...) One point on the above - (in the US [and remember, IANAL]) you don't get to deduct the hours you spend (though if you paid some kid to dissassemble and sort the parts, then you could deduct that expense). (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

  The geometry of minifigs

At what angle and point do the arm/shoulder of the minifig connect to the torso? What is the angle and offset of the bend of the minifig arm and what is the angle of the hand with respect to the pin which connects it to the arm? I don't see how (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

FOTW on Blue Tubs from TRU!

I had purchased as many of the <set:3033> from a $5 off sale about a month ago and ended up with as many as I thought I could afford, but still wanting more. Last night, I got a call from the manager of one of the local Toys 'R' Us stores and he had (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Russian T34/85 Tank

You are right, getting the angles of turrets is very difficult. The Tiger1 was relatively easy compared to the T34/85. I think this version is around the 6th rendition I attempted and I am still not completely happy with it, but it is close enough (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Will RCX work on PowerBook G3?

I actually purchased a Mac serial/USB to 9-pin serial converter, unfortunately, all of the ports I have are not for a printer or a modem, which the software seems to be very picky about.   Re: How do I...
