In your example, you would put the cursor on the first type-2 line in the first edge, set the mark (C-SPC) move down to the first type-2 line in the second curve and hit C-c C-f. Voila. The (...) I can't see that the parts are silver, I only see the reflection of the environment in them. Also, did you try to add a (low key) (...)
