Re: new part - 71014 Castle Greatsword

(...) OK, I copied the relevant lines into a separate DAT file, and -- well, it wasn't so much that the edge lines were inside the torii (they were) as that I put the "cones" (for making the torii) in the wrong places. :-P~~~ I've fixed this here.   Re: "Glowing" Lights in POV-RAY (2nd attempt)

(...) Hello, 1. To make a light stronger you can use a multiplier. For example: color rgb 2*<1,1,1> (double the light of the light source) or color rgb 0.5*<1,1,1> (half the light of the light source) or any other multiplier you like. 2. You can use (...)   Re: 5542 Black Thunder (no doors no windows)

Train doors tend to go for $2-5 each for the plain-colored ones, printed ones can go MUCH higher. Train windows are going to be really cheap in a few months with the soccer vans coming out with red/blu/black/white windows. The glass, however, will (...) (...) (I knew that! But I did double-check the code, to be sure it wasn't doing something I had forgotten) (...) That's bizarre. No, it's not. Well, sort of. (...) OK, this is definitely fixed in the 2.1.3 update, which I *hope* to upload this (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDRAW models and pictures

(...) Hello Bram, I have the box from set 6596 so i scanned the front and side of the box and i used the scans as an image map. The box consists of just two polygons, the top and side of the box (since the other sides are not visible i didn't make (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Proposed 'Legomodule' standard

(...) Terminology alert. I'd tend to call sections that are designed never to mate with anything else something other than "common", They're more or less unique, since the interface across the module boundary is non standard and unique to that (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Making Lego airborne

Hi, I want to create a light-weight tethered helicopter and was wondering if it was possible at all. Is the micro-motor powerful enough to lift a small helicopter. What about the geared motor or the older motor that is found in the space shuttle. I (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Making Lego airborne

(...) I seriously doubt you'll get any Lego motor to lift itself off the ground. I tried to use a Lego propeller and the older motor to push a small wheeled vehicle *horizontally* across the kitchen floor with very little success. I can think of two (...) Neither the micro-motor nor the geared motor turn anywhere near fast enough to even generate a stiff breeze, much less lift something. The old 9V motor is faster, but probably not fast enough. Daniel (...) -- "Being humble is why I'm a great (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics)
