it seems like the HB is not able to talk back to your PC. make sure the TxD signal starting from the 'hc11 is leaving the HB properly at the RJ11, reaching the interface bd, and then being cvt'ed to -10v to +10v levels out the interface bd on its (...) Rich, Well apart from the Lego situation its a very nice place. If you ever want a place where you can visit and just think about lego without actually having any, It'd be perfect. I'm not sure what opertae means but it seems clear from context. Hmm... I thought eBay was trying to take steps to prevent that.
