Re: Probably interruption of service at BRICKS

(...) Me? Why should I go against 27 years of program-less-ness now? ;-) (...) Double bummer. Oh, well. What non-eBay auctions would you recommend? Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Empire Analysis : WAS: [Re: Why I think we'll get Stormtroopers + Imperial ships]

(...) It's just the military officers. The stormtroopers have a normal accent. So it's that formality thing. Which sort of explains Sir Alec Guinness. Formal, you know. Steve (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  I just wanna see pictures....

I think it's great that Castle newsgroup finally got daily posts on something other than new sets.. I think the CW site is a great idea... My principle interest initially is to view other people's creations while building (and trying to post (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Thoughts on breaking out a pneumatics subgroup

(...) I also agree with you, Peter. I'm subscribing to lugnet.robotics via the crynwr mailing list and I enjoy the trawking through all the posts. I think, if there were only few (or even no!) posts a day, this pleasure would leave... Simon (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: 8 vs. 6 (was: Excited to Finally be here...)

(...) But I don't think that's what John said. He merely said that his creations were of the highest calibre. And, after I got to MSP and gave him some lessons, they are. :-) He's not claiming they're any particular scale. (...) And now I agree. I (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: An Acronym Guide - A to Z

(...) <snip> (...) Nah... notice that you're supposed to walk barefoot... and 1x1 bricks are not likely to be damaged from that ;-) Especially since your weight would be devided among many, many bricks... Ouch!!! The only thing it would damage, (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.faq)

static version of lnpd uploaded to arthudent

Because of several reports about compiling problems with lnpd, i made a static version and uploaded it to arthurdent. It's quite fat: 373942 bytes, compared to the dynamic, which is 21352, but we all have at least 512 Megs, don't we ? I guess it (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: [CW] More new pics ... and guns in CW

(...) My blacksmith (Atsidi) learned how to (create? and) care for firearms during his years of sea travelling. He have learned firsthand how destructive, opportunistic, and dishonorable they are, and take that knowledge into his own practice of (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: [CW] More new pics ... and guns in CW

Jeff, I totally agree. I see Jonathan's point but I think that CW is not a chronological world like ours. "History" in it is not neccessarily like ours. (This is sort of like people thinking that no life as we know it is possible on, say, Jupiter. (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: How much memory finally?

(...) If I remember correctly the RCX has a 16kROM for the basic routines. It has 32k RAM for firmware and programs. The scout has 32K ROM and only 1K RAM (400bytes for your program) Dean (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

In lugnet.publish, Todd Lehman writes: SNIP Good advice. The idea behind diffusion is a bit counter-intuitive. Turn the lights around and reflect them off something white. Copy/typing Paper works well for small objects. You can also do similar (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Technic Bargain

(...) They are the same motors. I'll bet the batch that went into the above sets were bad. That's why this one set suffers so badly from this problem. LEGO will replace the motors with no hassles. I've got one replaced and the other on it's way. (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.loc.ca)
