I came across Ken Takei's site while following some links from the (upcoming) Lego 5th Element Movie interview(my japanese isn't good enough to translate that, though B-\ ).   Re: John E. Doolittle

(...) It was tried--in 1862. That was part of the theory behind the Confederate ram Virginia (formerly the Federal frigate USS Merrimack). It just sort of sailed in and among the blockade force at Hampton Roads, and caused mayhem. However, ships (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: John E. Doolittle

(...) That last is the classic example of how steam changed the tactical lexicon. The Royal Navy hadn't even considered the possibility that this could be done, because it couldn't be done under sail in anything approaching an orderly manner. The (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: 9v train idea book: I might be making one, anyone interested?

(...) Hello. I just got into GL via Quesa. Yes, GLUT (ca 1994) is present in Apple's OpenGL release. I would be happy to give it a trial compile. An aside. The widespread use of OpenGL on the Mac is recent. For most of Apple's MacOS epoch, 3D was (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: new unofficial part - the "Bone"/"Cattlehorns" piece

This looks pretty good when l3p'd, but your use of spheres at the junction points of the cones is problematic in ldraw (ldlite, etc).
