The show is over now, everything went great. I didn't hear
a single negative complaint. We were invited back for the
next three shows. We will give a more thorough rundown of the
show tommorrow... it's been a long weekend.

Beautiful, I can't wait to see the photos of the rolling stock, incidentally,
when are you guys going to take "The Great WAMALUG Train Show" on the road...
think Greenbergs old thing could use a little help.
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I shot a few pictures of my own at the Sunday session of the train show and
picked out a few of my favorites to post. Check them out at my Brickshelf
gallery page:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=120
I will write up a short blurb in a while to give more details on the show and
on the pictures.
I must say that I had a blast at the show. It was only the second WAMALUG
event that I made it to and I know I will want to make it to more.

It's best to link to the folder name, so if you do that you don't have
to worry about updating your links. It may seem odd that you got a lower
number, but even if it was a higher number the link would still break.

I think there may be a bit of a flaw in the design here.
That foldername link HAS to be hand coded. There is no way to walk to
that location and then copy what's in the link box into your cut buffer
to paste, since what's in the link box is a f=nnn type link.
(granted, the tail end of the link is displayed at the top left of the
screen but even assembling that is error prone.)
Even if you go chase the link you posted, it instantly resets to the
f=nnn form.
Hand writing links is error prone and should be avoided. Better to
navigate to the place then copy the link out of the location/link box.
I'm not sure what to recommend but there's something to ponder here that
isn't quite right and you may want to try to fix it if you can, soon.
This gallery thing is growing like wildfire, kudos to you for thinking
of it and making it happen. But the downside is that if you can't fix
it, people will have to reupload etc.

OK, fess up, who owns it? They obviously own too many Metroliners, they can
afford to do crazy stuff like this ;-)
I need to talk to them, I need more windows/doors to work on my 20-car
Metroliner.

Crazy? I kinda like it, although it is a little skinny;-) Proper looking:

maybe you should look at the title of the picture, it's self-explanatory.

I told the owner it was kinda narrow, although our current layout won't
run anything 8wide. We had a minor design flaw where most engines couldn't
approach the station because they would hit the platform coming through
the turn.

| Once again, those who run 6 wide have proven themselves to not care about
those of use who model 8 wide. They probably don't have handicapped access
to their layout, either. :-)
It is unfortunate that many layouts can't handle oversized trains. I am
hoping that is not the case when the BayLTC layout gets up and running. I
figure that if my UP Diesel can make it through a layout, then anything
short of the largest of Steam Locos, the Allegheny or UP Big Boy, are safe.
Have you actually tested the layout for the largest size train possible at 6
and/or 8 wide? Just testing to see what can and can't go around the loop
will alert you to possible problems before you run into them.

My ~200 vidcaps are up now, starting with setup on Friday.
The halogen lights in the arena work so much better for my camcorder than
incandescent lights.

got home very late, so I couldn't upload the pics right
away... everything is up now, all 3 days:

it was a lot of fun :)

Incredible!!! The display was far more ambitious than I could have imagined.
Great models, interesting minifig events, impressive town structures, and a
hell of a lot of trains. I wish I could have been there.

...Wish you could have been there too. You would have loved it, and your
military models would have been a huge hit too (our second 'bonus layout'
table was a big hit and would have been perfect!). :-)
