They take the bot taxi:

I’m entering this into Mark’s Civilian MOC contest.

This can hold 2 passenger robriq (the big bot itself is the driver). These bots sorta move around like water striders. Kind of sliding and leaping...and the taxi moves the same way.

The engine hinges up to let the bots in and there’s a maintenance hatch on the bottom.

I like to imagine it parallel parking. Kicking a car up into a store front and punching a hole through another one.

Tell me what ya think!

Well, someone has to ask it, so...who takes the bot taxi home when it goes to the pub? It’d suck to always have to be the designated driver for no reason beyond that you’re the car.

Mama Zemi is pretty cool Jon, but instead of Robriq (also cool) I imagined a brood of zemis exploding from that steel uterus behind the hinged engine. Then, of course, Mama Zemi would consume as many as she could catch. But thats just my own fantasy. Cool moc. But the PDX public still demands to know...where is ADD bot? He’s the one I want to see leaving the pub.

Great work as always -Keith

I’ll tell you what I think--it’s beautiful! The image gave me an instant “tickle”, like the genre of modern art where they make oversized replicas of ordinary objects like spoons and pencils. Expertly done, as always.

I think there is a magnifier / scale vortex of some kind in .space these days.

The first ship that gave me that impression is Ryan’s Ju Zhen. And now this Robriq Taxi. It’s very difficult at first glance to determine what is its scale, what it’s made of. Very nice work Jon, I am really surprised how this thing turned out. Clever use of the ball sockets!

Cheers,

JP.

Unca Jon, brilliant use of the ball sockets. A fun model all around.

Now I’m eagerly anticipating the jumbo-sized Robriq #2.

Now that’s a name to conjure with.

I especially like this pic; I can just see its legs kicking in the air as it tries to right itself. Oh the indignity of it all.

Damn! I was hoping you wouldn’t say that.

I’m with Keith on this.(1) More capacity! How about a way for more of the little guys to ride on the outside like some species of frogs or spiders? Mmmmm, swarms of little bots...

I definitely want to see that. Animations, anyone?

This MOC has so many cool ‘part-use’ innovations and ‘scale-humour’ moments. Nicely greebled yet shmoove... I think you’re brilliant and I mean ‘scary-brilliant.’ Now, go build a P-38 or something...

Peace and swarms,

Professor Whateverly

(1) glad to see that I’m not the only one who thinks along these lines. Wierdos unite!

[ j o n ],

This bugger is wickedly cool (bad pun intended)! That leg structure is perfect for the scale and i think the “taxi” idea is just great. I also dig the green hue on the first pic.
