Space Cargo Container Standard? —Jeff Findley
Even though I rarely start threads on Lugnet, I thought this topic is ripe for discussion. We've seen from the recent thread, (URL) gives space a whirl, that there seems to be some interest in a Space Cargo Container Standard. Drawing on the above (...)         Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Jake McKee
(...) I'd say standard dimensions are a requirement! I'd also say we include a short and long version of the containers, much like trains (or real-life intermodal) does. the containers I used (I think) are 8 studs long, so this could be the short (...)         Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Mike Kollross
Snippage (...) I'm not very active in .space but I'll throw in my $0.02. I like the idea of the 8 x 16 studs for width and length. If height of a moonbase corridor is 7 bricks and two plates adding corner plates to the bottom corners would bring the (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Nick Kappatos
(...) I don't see this as being an issue for the MoonBase. I see it being more necessary for a MB rail or track system, but even then it doesn't need to be "nailed down" like the MB corridors have to be. If the MB corridors don't line up, then (...)          Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Mike Kollross
Snippage (...) I don't think anyone is talking about changing the MB standards as much as designing a standard for containers to fit WITH the MB. Mike (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Nick Kappatos
(...) Here's the part in Jeff's original message that particular reaction is to; I read it as changing the corridor height at the ends, but after re-reading the passage it appears ambiguous. (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Duane Hess
(...) I agree that this is more of a container standard than a MB standard. I'm not sure Jeff was talking about modifying the MB standard at all. I think his point is that we should try to make the container standard conform to the MB airlock (...) (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Jeff Findley
(...) This is what I meant. I added another post I talked about one way you could use these modules (similar to how MPLM's are used on NASA's space shuttle and ISS).          Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Jeff Findley

           Re: Crane —Jason S. Mantor

Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Daniel Hamann

Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Jeff Findley
(...) I'd think this would work simply by replacing the front set of turntables (2x2 plate, 3680C01.DAT) with 2x2 plates (3022.DAT).           Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —David Laswell

Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Christian Treczoks
Hi, I'm usually no spacehead (although my first larger MOC was/is SciFi, and my next will be, too), and I scrapped my moonbase module for parts to build a castle MOC (yes, yes, I know...), but I already designed something with "containers" and just (...)         Re: Space Cargo Container Standard? —Troy Routley
