    Help! —Rob Drechsel
Hi All! I'm in a situation where I can obtain several pirate hulls for very cheap -or- free. In addition to the hulls and masts, what parts are really important to the ships? Please give me your opnions. Rob robo2705@hotmail.com (23 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) I'm not a real big Pirate-head but SAILS, from what I have seen (unless you are including them in the masts) you need the sails. I believe that they would be the second hardest part to get after the hulls, perhaps even harder to find than the (...) (23 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

         Re: Help! —Rob Drechsel
(...) I've already got about 20 mini-figs, and they are already in my castle's town, but I think I can aquire more. It sounds like most of the sails are destroyed, and that has been bothering me. I have to think of a way to make sails! Rob (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) I think masts and rigging are harder to get, but then I'm not a purist, and I'd be willing to cut up muslin for sails. I even used the Weapons Wagon cover for a sail on my daughter's boat. George (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

Do not worry about the sails too much, you can use muslin cut to the pattern of the tattered sails. Look for the following. Tall brown rigging Black base mast pieces that are approx. 4" tall ( not the 4x4plate w/base for mast) Crows nest Red or (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

        Re: Help! —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Any parts that are free are important. Free is good. Cheap is good too, fut free is far fuperior. Of course, make sure you have enough midsections (or the bits to make your own), some lattice windows (arched or 1x4x3 shutter-frames), cannon, a (...)          Re: Help! —Rob Drechsel
(...) I have to agree with the free part, I'm already getting baseplates and parts from others who are not interested in the hobby. I will make sure to get all the accessories, and not any Paradisa peoples, unless they are free. Rob (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) Yes, Free is great! Others not interested in the hobby? how could they! :) i have a bunch of friends with a bunch of lego, and they dont even use it and they wont give it to me(or sell it) they are all like "What would you want it for?" oh (...)      (...) What's this about using bricks to extend the hull? I'm new to Pirate and ship building (actually using the boats for castle). How do you do this, I haven't even see a boat-hull in recently, and the only time I did, I was about seven. How do (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)

         Re: Help! —Dan Vogel
(...) I use inverse 2x2 pieces, two stacked on each other, so it kinda looks like the wood planks. if it is the right color(which i can rarely get enough of the same color) and you are not looking too close it goes with it IMO. you then take these (...)         Re: Help! —Steve Wooster
(...) Rob: I would suggest you take a look at brickshelf.com, and check out the instructions for all the pirate, etc. ships that are there. Many parts you might need/want will be shown, as well as how they are incorporated into the final products as (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.pirates)
