Hello all,
After being contacted by several people I'm once again sending around a note
about forming an Irish Lego Users Group. I was too over run with work to pursue
this as I should have last year, but am hoping now to give it a good run now.
Blanket apologies ; )
I'm located in Cork and Belfast (long story), so any of the major cities would
suit. Anyone who would be interested in attending a meet up some time in
september please email me you're preferred city (Dublin will most likely be the
evil compromise).

Hey all, just sent these out to a few people and thought Id post here just in
case...
Im crossposting to .UK/.NI in case anyone reads there more frequently. Were
trying to be island wide (Im from Portadown so the North is represented)...
The message:
Greetings all,
Im contacting you about forming an Irish Lego Users Group (lug).
the fine print (which allows me to sublet your home ; ): Youre receiving this
because you emailed/PMed/responded to an online post...
What wed like to do is get an Irish lego group together, I know we are a small
and diverse group, with some preferring collecting and some who prefer building,
but Id love to get us all together for some lego based craic once/twice a year
with the possibility of growing from there...
The basic proposal:
to start us off we could meet for a drink/meal in one of the cities (probably
this autumn) and share our love of the brick.
If you know anyone else interested please pass this on...

Hey all,
Been back home for a while now and have noticed more and more fellow Irish fans
of lego appearing online. Thought it might be time to ask around and see if
anyone would be interested in starting an Irish lego users group. Due to the
limited number of us, the scope wouldnt be that big, more of a cure for
oversees LUG envy. But if theres enough interest Id love to be involved in
some form of something ; )
If anyone would be partial to some lego based craic give me an email and will
try and get a vague list going....
Thanks a million,
Nathan Todd greenbricklandNOSPAMscape@dublin.com

A MOCtale* part 1:
Every legend begins with a little greed...
This one begins with a lot...
Tis a tale of two brothers; one wise and the other foolish... Foolish enough to
believe a travelers tale of a vast treasure horde... Nine chests, of such
bountiful wealth that they could only be transported by a stone cart, buried
deep in a secret shaft of a lost mine, whose owners had been overtaken by a
terrible fate...
Two long years without word passed, and then the eight greatest warriors of the
clan set out with their Chieftain to find this lost mine. For a brother is a
brother, no matter how foolish...
Stand at the entrance, dare to find,
who can tell what awaits at the:
Entrance To The Caves
- A MOCtale is a story told by MOCs of its pivotal scenes...
About this particular MOC:
Im very pleased with the way this turned out, Ive never built a cut-away MOC
before and there are also a lot of features packed into the relatively small
space of this model. It is the first in a series I have planned which will
complete a MOCtale. It is also the first time Ive tried my hand at editing, I
can only get better ; ). As always please let me know what you think.
Thanks and God Bless,
Nathan

Greetings All,
I proudly present Turners Cross, my latest castle MOC. (pic=link)
I imagine this to be a segment of a very prosperous Royal Knight regional
capital. As such the defenses are now more for show than actual combat and the
city has gradually overgrown the once mighty keep, its streets now thread right
through the heart of it. This MOC has a lot of vignette quality detail sprinkled
throughout so please glance around, even into the interiors folder. There are
two cunning Wolf Packs, two rampaging Vikings, and a rather well done (yes, I
say so myself : ) exploding water barrel, and that is just for starters... I
also used this as a testing ground for a few designs, look out for 11 assorted
stairs/ladders and a few snotty fireplaces, not to mention one very fine
chandelier... Each building includes a new (to my own MOCs) technique or colour
combination which, I think, compliments the whole.
The Gallery (when public):
When I get more time Ill post a few of my own faviourite
shots/details as I know it is a lot to look through... also a list of what each
shop actually sells : ) ,there are a few unusual ones...
I also want to thank Keith Goldman for his innovative idea of
using the ninja wall sections as streets, and Josh Wendin for the medieval
Marketplace concept without which I probably would never have started building
village scenes!
Please let me know what you think!
Thanks much and God Bless,
Nathan

I will be holding a LEGOFest in Bishops Stortford on Saturday 2 October 2004 and
have booked a hall from 9am to 5pm.
Bishops Stortford is on the Hertfordshire/Essex borders with a train station on
the Liverpool Street to Cambridge line and just 10 minutes from Stansted
Airport. The hall is about 150 yards up a side road from the main shopping
street, walkable from the station and has ample free parking.
I'm keen to do a big Moonbase, with as many contributors as possible. There will
be room for individual exhibits and other collaborative ventures. I'm undecided
at the moment about making part of the day (maybe just 1pm-4pm) a public
display.
Unlike several previous ventures, this hall is not free so I'll be asking for a
small financial contribution from attendees to offset some of the costs.
