I'm pleased to announce that BrickFest 2004 will beheld on the weekend of

Great news and perfect dates!
I'll try to catch a flight either wednesday night or thursday and back exactly a
week later.

As I'm not familiair with Washington DC, what touristic attractions are in the
area that are worth visiting? And any cheap hotel recommendations?
Thanks in advance,
Jan-Albert van Ree

The Air and Space Museum is a marvelous place to visit too.  There are a ton of
museums and monuments within walking(1) distance of the Mall, right from the
metro.

As for hotels, there's really no such thing as a "cheap" hotel in the Arlington
area.  Most people stay at the Hilton.  Room with your favorite three or four
other lugnetters and the rate gets pretty reasonable.

(1) my wife and I thought that we would walk from the Mall to the Jefferson
Memorial.  It's doable, but something on the order of 2 miles away.  Just
because you can see from one monument to the other doesn't mean that you should
walk to them :)
