of the 3 lion crest series witch is best to you i like the crusaders they
were the most original and had the best sets also many of you think the
black knights were bad guys they are whatever you want them to be but they
were good guys i have it in a catalog somewhere it says they and the
wolfpack have to stop the evil dragon master guys or something like thatfrom
pictures the falcons seem to be good as they were with the black knights a lot
the crusaders are good
falcons good
black knights good
wolf pack in between
dragon masters bad
fright knights bad and a very unworthy series
dark forest bad
forest men bad (these 2 are robbers and bandits so that makes them unlawful
so they are bad in a sense)
bulls bad
royal dudes good
the new guys are good
but their castle kinda sucks it is all towers and stuff it seems empty and
unlike other big castles it has 524 pieces while others had over 600

ps i am good at making run on sentences

Everyone pretty much decides what side they want to be good or bad.

the crusaders are good
Opportunistic.

falcons good
Good.

black knights good
Obscure balance of Knightly and Greedy.

wolf pack in between
Amoral.

dragon masters bad
Well, there's good, there's bad, and then there's ugly.

fright knights bad and a very unworthy series
I dunno, I have a whole squadron of bat-winged helmed cavalry with samurai
armor that I rather like.  I like most of the figs (the actual structures
and models are weak).

dark forest bad
Libertarian!

forest men bad (these 2 are robbers and bandits so that makes them unlawful
Oppressed libertarians!  :-)

bulls bad
Born to be wild.

royal dudes good
Little Goody-Two Shoes (insert favorite Ash witticism here).

the new guys are good
Good.

Good... Bad... I'm the guy with the crown.  Heh.

There's an Evil Dead game coming out for the Dreamcast with voice supplied by
Bruce himself.  Can't wait.

obCastle:  The original name for Army of Darkness was "Mid-Evil Dead", but the
studio nixed it because they didn't want to lose audiences by making them think
(realise?) it was a sequel to a movie they probably hadn't seen.

Well, I always figured if I were a minifig, I'd be part of the Black Falcons.
As a Card-Carrying Oppressed Libertarian, I guess I will have to change my
minifig allegiance!

I always saw the Forestmen as liberals myself, steal from the rich and give to
the poor until there are no more rich and everyone is poor.

Oops, is that a political comment?  =]

My first Castle set was Knight's Stronghold.  It had three Black
Knights, and since they were the defending the fortress, I thought they were
the good guys.  It also had two Black Falcons, but for years I thought that
they were Crusaders, since Crusaders were listed in the 1992 catalog and Black
Faclons were not.  So in my mind I had some defending Black Knights and some
Crusaders looking to destroy the Black Knight's fort with their catapult.  Of
course, the most obvious difference between the 'fig was that the Black Knights
had red uniforms, and the other guys, the "Crusaders", had blue.  Therefore,
red was for good guys and blue was for bad guys.

Then I was was given two copies of Dual Defender. Again, the blue
guys were associated with destruction.  I payed no attention to the coat of
arms printed on the shields at this point.  I applied my uniform theory to
flags as well, good knights dispayed red flags and bad knights displayed blue.
It was simple until I got the Battering Ram.  It had a yellow flag!
But it also had a red one, and I don't recall this changing my theory too much.

I also recieved Fire Breathing Fortress in my early Castle years.
Now, this was different!  The Dragon Master king had blue and red on him, in a
very unusual pattern.  I could not put this army on either the good or bad
side.  Here's his picture-
http://nt1.pncl.co.uk/huw/view.asp?Set=6082-1
I decided that since the Dragon Masters were LEGO's newest subtheme, they had
until recently been nomadic and had just settled in Legoland.  They hadn't yet
chosen a side in the Black Knights/Crusader war, and wore both colours until
they decided who to fight with.  Wolfpack were just thieves, I didn't try to
work them into it.

I collected some of the other Dragon Masters sets, but then I began to get
significantly less Castle.  In the early-mid-1990s, I was collecting Town,
Train, Pirate, Space, Aquazone, TECHNIC... well pretty much everything.  I
somehow never owned a single Royal Knights set, got only the smallest Dark
Forest set, and the Windship from Fright Knights.  And by that time, my days of
Black Knights and Crusaders were over.  In early 1998 I entered my dark age.

1999-2000.  I'm back into LEGO, and buying a bit of Castle again.  I have some
Ninja sets (6083, 6093, 3051, 3050).  Ninja is a very confusing subtheme.
There's about four sides-

Black Ninjas and Red Robbers
Grey Ninjas and Blue Samauri
Red Ninjas, Green Ninjas, and White Ninja
Evil Emperor

My personal theroy, being made up as I type, is that the Grey Ninja team were
the original rulers of Ninjaland, but were being constantly annoyed by sneaky
Black Ninjas trying to steal the $100 in coins being kept in 6093.  The Red
Ninja team were newcomers, but superior at the art of Ninjary, and they had
invented cannons too!  They fought to prove themselves better than the Grey
Ninjas.  The Black Ninjas were driven out of Ninjaland.  The evil Emperor of a
neighbouring country stole the $100 in coins, enslaved two inexperienced Red
Ninjas, and snuck off in his boat.  The Grey Ninjas at this point admitted
defeat, and joined the Red Ninjas to defeat the Emperor.  Okay?

I picked up Night Lord's Castle on clearance early this year.  My
only 2000 Castle set is the Catapult Crusher.  I'm not really interested in the
rest of the Knights Kingdom sets though, unoriginal and high prices.  Maybe
there will be better Castle in 2002.

Good and bad only applies when I am not switching parts around on my
creations.  Townsfolk are mostly neutral depending on who yanks their
chains.  For the "stock" sets and official stuff, I'd have to go like this
(with liberal storylines added by me):

Crusaders:  Knights of the Quest, always pursuing the lawless.
Forestmen:  Men who seek to escape rule by anyone.
Black Falcons:  Unaligned faction that prefers to keep to itself.
Black Knights:  Knights who keep the peace around Majisto's forests.
Dragon Masters:  Majisto's dragon-riders fight the Necromancer.
Wolfpack:  Fearsome hunters, no allegience to the Lioncrest.
Fright Knights:  Evil forces of the Necromancer and his witch.
Royal Kingdom:  Largest faction ruling the Lioncrest realm.  King Leo rules.
Royal Knights:  Paladins of the Lioncrest.
Bulls:  Kingdom of barbarians who will fight for a price, not trusted.
Dark Forest:  Scouts at the edge of Majisto's realm, Rangers.
classic Knights:  Knights holding feifdoms in the outer realms.

That is just the way it worked out for me, story line evolves as I get my
hands on more Castle stuff, the mid 80's were my dark ages, so I ain't got
much of them.  Did not get back into it until Majisto landed in front of my
Pirate ships and said, "Take notice!  For I am cool!"  Since then, I've been
a little mad.
