There are; but they're not currently in production. Like in <set:6265 this
set>. But I doubt you could get them cheaply...

Nu-uh. BV had only spiral staircases, IIRC. OTOH, there are at least two types
of straight staircases; one came with Fort Legoredo, and it doesn't have the
rising (I think that's the right term) or a rail. There's also another type, I
think it appeared in space sets, but I'm not sure which. Both of these
appeared in black, I think, which is a not-bad-at-all color for castles...

And perhaps town sets as well.

Yup, I know, but he asked if any were in current production. Other sets
include 725, 4020, 6276, 6277, and undoubtedly a few more...

Yes, they did, I have some. :) I just thought there where more than there
actually are. ;) (see below)

A cream one appears in <set:5808>.

These stairs appeared in Castle, Pirate, Belville, and Fabuland as well.
Magenta in <set:5870>, Dark Gray in <set:6270> and <set:6273>, Black in
<set:6082> and <set:6988>, Yellow in <set:3676>, <set:3681>, and <set:3682>.

Not recently. Only Freestyle has had them recently, AFAIK.

Yeah, this is the problem. I'd never been much into pirate, see, and now
I note all those pirate sets that had a whole bunch of parts that'd be
useful today...

Hm, didn't even know that one existed.

This is the type I was thinking of. I was afraid it was pretty much a
deprecated piece.

Tell me about it... I am just now beginning to re-appreciate them (as a kid I
really wanted them, but...). Once I get some better funds, I'll consider
shelling some dough on a pirate set or two (or ten).

What, the staircase? or the set? <grin>
(The staircase also came with <set:6769>, in black.)

Actually, I'd love it if I could get my hands on it. It's better than the
spiral staircases, thasfersure.

P.S. I just noticed that those weird commas in your sig are actually Pacman!
That's hilarious!

The staircase. Fort Legoredo is the one of that genre of sets I missed, of
course. I need to go see if the TRU near home still had those... I was
hoping to wait 'til clearance. :)

So, of course, which do I have more of in my collection? :)
The spiral staircases come in handy, though-- they take up less floor space
in a tower structure.

It doesn't come out so well in fonts that aren't fixed-width [0]... :) I
just took a look at it, and it looks particularly bizarre on the web
interface...
[0] I am unfrozen cave-man news junkie. I read/post lugnet using old-style
Usenet-type newsreader on a fixed-width-font terminal window... I'm also
unfrozen cave-man videogame junkie as well. :)

You and me both, brother. The oldies are the goodies. Give me Donkey Kong
and Pac Man over Crash Bandicoot and "insert game title" 64 anyday!
