I was sort of bummed after I saw their stuff too. (It's like, if you live in a
cold place, and go visit florida, then going back to the snow is even
worse... :)
After seeing those cool things that used NO castle-wall pieces, I couldn't
bear using any myself...

Definitely! They look excellent, so long as they're not used on ground level,
AND sparingly on others.

Hmm... I'm not sure grey will always rule. There seems to be a (still small)
trend of moving a bit away from grey - just a little, but it's growing... I
think combos of grey/black with colors is a great way to go to give a building
some personality!

No no ... Grey with grey - to try to make them invisible. Grey with red

Personally, I was thinking along the lines of the good referee philosophy.
It's only a good referee when you really don't notice him or her. The walls
can be really good
if you don't notice them. Hence the grey with grey. Again - they can be
used to save on bricks (which tend to be expensive in grey, no?)

For sure. Those little red and blue lines that Dave n' Eric (Lugnet Sitcom
idea ... ? Dave n' Eric's World. j/k) used really add an artistic touch to
their creations.

Well.. not exactly need, but, y'know, um... er, any better word to describe it
is eluding me. I'll "need" it with regard to my storyline, it's not exactly a
neccessity but a it's more than just a serious want.

Nay, that's not what I meant; I was referring to the feeling that castle-walls
at ground level are silly, because the windows are ubiquitous and
inappropriate... you don't want invaders to sneak through the ground windows,
now, do you?

Yeah, I know. You guys ain't seen it yet, (1) but my inn already "rightfully

If they are not slaughtered by the soldiers in the wall, on the towers, and
above them on the parapets. :) Ever wonder why there is a slight overhang up
there? Why, in order to drop rocks on the enemies below, of course!. ;)

for the ones on the parapets, but I can't remember the word... I think it

Here in sunny Sydney-by-the-sea we dream of snowballs as well,especially after
the summer we have had/are having. Australia does have a ski industry,bee-
leave it or knot.
But anyway,back to castley topics,since everyone has just refused to develop
the top part of the thread after I mentioned an arctic-orange castle, even
after someone rated it up to 75! I have set myself the challenge of an orange
arctic(or maybe antarctic)outpost/castle (I bought some 7171's on clearance),
or maybe in preparation for the next ice-age.

Snow is real pretty when its new. It can be fun for snowball fights and
tobogganing. Other than that, and as a source of moisture for the fields
in the spring, most people find it to be a nuisance. It's *very* ugly
in the late stages of melting (like here, now).
However, aren't there a number of castles in Britain, Scandanavia, etc.
that encounter snow? Could one model a castle with snow on it? Perhaps
it would just look goofy. I recall seeing one or two snowy Lego scenes,
and they looked not bad.
