| Hi everyone
This is actually my first posting as up to now I've mostly been lurking.
Very much inspired by the yellow castle contest on Classic-Castle I decided to
built my own version of the classic yellow castle. For the contest I was however
both too late and somewhat too big I think.

The castle is built in modules / sections so that it can be easily modified /
expanded / reconfigured. The pictures Ive put up actually show two slightly
different configurations. In addition each tower is built in a way so that they
can be separated (relatively) easily into large sup-parts that will fit into
storage quite easily.
About a year ago I built a red castle of almost the same size (also on
brickshelf if one goes up from the yellow castle) but I later had to take it
completely apart as I dont have room for structures of that size standing
around. Conversely the yellow castle has also been put into storage but it can
be set up again within a couple of hours even though it doesnt take up much
more storage than the bricks would have anyway. Adding trees, flowers and
minifigs might take a couple of hours more but that counts more as playing with
the castle.
The drawback to a modular building style is that the towers actually have no
doors. If they had that would limit the flexibility in how they can be put
together. Once a configuration has been chosen this could of course be repaired
with a slight rebuild.
The castle doesnt have any interior. Im very impressed with the fantastic
interiors that other people have done for their castle but personally I dont
have the patience for it. My interest is to build huge castles in the
traditional colors (so I still have left to built a blue, a black and a white
(and in fact a new red) castle).
Best regards, Infyrana

Welcome to Lugnet. I hope you choose to post more.
Very nice work. I like that you didnt let a scarcity of grey hold you back.
Your yellow castle looks excellent. All those great shaped towers and walls at
angles. There are some ideas in there that I will have to borrow on my next
project.
Thanks for sharing.

Infyrana,
Wow, the King came into a lot of money, this is a spectacular castle. More than
that though, I how I'm impressed with how you modeled all the different towers;
square, octagonal, triangular and round. This would be a great resource for
someone wondering just how to make a non-rectangular tower.
Thanks for sharing this, I may be back to look if I need inspiration for towers.
Thanks,
George

Geometrical perfection... I LOVE IT!

I look forward to seeing those too.

This is the nicest castle I've seen in a long time!
Love the towers, the interesting angles, and the asymetry.

Hi Henning,
I keep coming back to look at this castle as it is a great source of ideas. I
love the short curved connecting walls as well as all the angles you used in the
towers. I have been duplicating some of these ideas already as they have solved
some of "problems" I've had with straight walls and symetrical Keeps.
I have taken your colour concepts as well and have built my own red tower -
square though - not up to your level of skill on the shaped towers yet!
This is really beautiful work.

Hi Bert
I've noticed your red tower (if it's the red and blue one?) and I think it's
excellent. Definitely at least as good as what I built just a little less of it.
I'm very happy that I've inspired you and that others are building non-grey
castles. Of course grey is more realistic and in many ways nicer but it's good
with some variety and to be able to use all the standard coloured bricks.
Best regards, Henning
