Hey Pat,

Wow! Vignette prowess really runs deep in the Yrizarry family gene pool! There is so much coolness about this series of vignettes:

The mere fact that these LEGO vignettes are based on ??? (porcelain?) vignettes.

The way you matched the figs to the inspirations (e.g. the use of the HP troll head for the nurse, etc.)

In Marathon Ghost, the foot on the other side of the wall, and the really tall fig in the bed. :)

In Nurse Ghost, the very clever toilet paper dispenser, and the way you did the toilet (presumably--I’m not entirely sure what that is in the original inspiration. Do urinals have that design in Japan?)

In Oiran’s Ghost, the water splashing up, and the red flag.

In Scampering Ghost, the very cool moped design.

In Tunnel Ghost, the way you used hinges to shape the wall. How did you attach the Bionicle masks, BTW?

On another note, where do you live? I ask because I’d really love a chance to get the LEGO Kabaya promotional sets, and never considered looking in some of the Japanese groceries around here (I live in Los Angeles).

Anyway, awesome MOCs. You and Nelson are really pushing the bar higher. Blogged!

Bruce

There I noticed another Kabaya series of candy toys about (...) (19 years ago, 9-Mar-05, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.vignette, FTX) !!
