Prototype:

These trucks are seen near the main garbage transfer station on the Harlem River in the Bronx. Typically, four of these containers would be placed on a rail flat car (MOC to come) and transported to a land fill out of state.

I am very happy with the cab. It is similar, but slightly different than the cabs on my previous trucks.

Initially, I made my containers (9 of them) only 6 studs tall. It was way to short. Even 8 studs tall is short. These containers are massive.

Best,

Jonathan (who is embedding images in a post for the first time . . . are these considered to large?)

Hey, that’s garbage! ;-)

You are SUCH an ashcanner! I don’t even HAVE trash in my town:-)

Well done, and faithful to the proto, Jonathan. Per the pics; I’d say that they are too large, but here is what you can do: Actually, you can SEE what I did to them to create hyperlink thumbs of them. You just need to add a /thumb/ before the pic name, and add _thumb.jpg at the end of the pic name.

Good luck!

JOHN

Im gonna have to disagree with JOHN... its not like those pics were huge by any means. I think a post with one or two images that size is perfect. I would say if you wanted to add more, then yes, by all means, use the thumbnail link instead.

OF course... Im gonna have to agree with JOHN and say that is an awesome Moc. Nice job!

My initial thought, before I asked, was that they seemed a bit large (though not huge) So I think for the future I’ll ‘smaller’ them a bit.

Great work as usual. I’d prefer slightly smaller pics (I usually use 500px width) but it’s certainly not a big deal.

The cab of the truck looked really wrong to me at first but it does match the prototype really well. I’d like to see the grey grilles at the front replaced by faux-chrome though.

As always, thanks, Tim. I was quite sure I used the faux chrome grills. It appears I didn’t. I have so many of them. . . .

Best,

Jonathan

Excellent work on the cab. I would love to see more close-up pictures or better yet an LDraw file of it...

Thanks, Bill.

I have built another and included a number of photos that should showcase the cab for you here:

Cab is quite similar to the blue one.
