Ok, Steve, I promised a Spybot driven module, but it is not yet ready for prime time :-/

I find the dumb single motor modules so fun to build... (and perhaps more in Rube Goldberg spirit?)

One nice thing with GBC is that you can put odd parts to good use:

Enjoy!!!

Philo,

Please stop making modules.  Many people will see these as something that simply can
not be improved upon.  :)

Very nice.

It is fun to build "dumb" modules.

Again, nice work

Steve

ps please don't stop...

These really are wonderful. As Steve says, you really are raising the
standard - but my message to anyone is not to be daunted but inspired
by Philo. I think the GBC possibilities are only really beginning to
be explored - who knows what else people will come up with...

I did!

Fantastic!

I keep on trying different things, but these are just beautiful in their
simplicity and elegance!  Beautiful job!

Wow. Oh... my... WOW!

How you can do so much with so little and yet make it look so good, it just amazes me. These are absolutely wonderful, and the video of the full assembly is spellbinding. Thank you! OK, now where are all those long formerly-useless pieces of flex tubing I had around here somewhere...

OK, that’s not enough wows but it’s gonna have to do ;)

BTW There was a Meccano GBC at the model show we displayed at on the weekend, which was quite cool, even though it was all built into 1 huge box, and they cheated and used ping-pong balls.

Oh, and the pics of our display are here, but there’s not much Technic, so it’s probably a little off-topic ;)

Philo, these are beautiful! You make it look so easy and I know it is not. I have struggled with making good reliable ball lifters and you seem to make them with ease.

Very nice!

Thanks for your kind words, Gus (and all of you who liked my modules)!!!

The most difficult part is getting a reliable feeding mechanism, especially when the lifting part is narrower...

I got this one right quite easily (the low profile blade easily slides below the balls but keeps on stirring so there is no jam):

...But I spent hours on this one to get the geometry right. And even now, rarely I have a ball that engages partially in the output drain and locks the rotating liftarm. With the worm gear drive, there is enough torque to overcome the lock but once in a while a ball or two flies across the room...:
