Hi everybody,

After this one and this one, I’m (still) proud to announce a new window :

At this moment, I’m sure that SNOT specialists will count : “One... two... three... but ! it’s not possible to fill a 3 wide hole with plates in SNOT.” That’s right, but I don’t use plates here. The brick here is the 3185 Fence 1x4x2.

We used yet this part to make stained windows, but this part has the very interressant property that its thickness is 1/3 of brick. This part allows a 1/3 offset.

A MLCad view of the building technique :

Complet gallery after moderation :

Tim, Larry, I will make an article on Brickwiki about offset :)

Hi Eric,

Beautiful window design (and your previous ones too). It is always good to see a new technique and especially (for me anyway) one that does not require many specialised parts.

Now you have me thinking what sort of model could be built around such a window.

Anyway, thanks for sharing this and I look forward to seeing the article ;)

Tim

Now how did you know we were going to ask about that??? LOL

What I really want to know is how to hide the big fence thingies sticking out the back of the window..

Hi everybody,

After <http://news.lugnet.com/castle/?n=20386 this one> and
<http://news.lugnet.com/announce/?n=2692 this one>, I'm (still) proud to
announce a new window :

At this moment, I'm sure that SNOT specialists will count : "One... two...
three... but ! it's not possible to fill a 3 wide hole with plates in
SNOT."
That's right, but I don't use plates here. The brick here is the 3185
Fence
1x4x2.

We used yet this part to make <http://news.lugnet.com/general/?n=49284
stained
windows>, but this part has the very interressant property that its
thickness is
1/3 of brick. This part allows a 1/3 offset.

Hi Erik,

very nice concept you've come up with!

I will try to build it one of these days and look into
the protruding parts on the back and how to incorporate these
into nice architectural concepts,
or something...

Seriously, it might be a nasty job to have the back side of your project
nicely covered and usefull.

But really, it's tempting my imagination,
and I'm once more amazed about what one
(you in particular, right now) can come up with
with all these simple Lego bricks.

It's great fun!

Thanks for sharing
and play on!

I’m impatient to see the variants you will be able to find, as for the lattice windows.

Hehe, that’s right. A little “vignette touch” to give life to the MOC, and the 3 to stress the width of the window.
