I bought a 6769 from DYA (wow that was cheap:) and it got here a few
days ago.. I love it!
Two BIG bags of log walls and 1x4 log bricks, and two smaller bags of
1x2 log bricks.. 10 minifigs.. I'm going to have fun with this :) The
doors (4 large brown rounded doors, 2 black corrugated rectangular
doors) will probably find a home in the castle I'm building..
I've been waiting for a long time to get my hands on one of these.. and
it was worth the wait :)

Yes, it would be cool. I'd kinda like to see more rotation of Castle themes,
so we can get other cultures in our lands. :) I now actually think Ninja was
a good thing, and I'd like to see it make another run in a couple years. The
buildings needed work though...

Yes, then we could get djinn and scimitars and stuff! :) I love scimitars!

I think TLG could do a first rate job on a Viking theme. Large Viking boat
Viknig fiord village or even attaking an English village(understanding they
were not English but really Saxons at that time) Maybe even get into the
Viking gods Thor Oden and the evil giants with Loki.
Let them do the Vikings then maybe a middle east theme and we could do crusades
battles

were no dragons in medieval times either, but I gots ta have my dragon in my

Really. Those wacky Norsemen had some "interesting" ideas.

Hmm. I've never heard of this, but I don't know anything about Vikings. That's
pretty interesting...
But like I said, I'm not so much into Vikings. I like the traditional Euro-
style better... If I would ever make Vikings, I'd look into this more.
Definitely food for thought.

Either old helmet would work, I believe, if you cut it. You'd want to cut it
right at the top of the face-opening part, leaving a peaked cap. Hmmm... I
may have to try this...
FTR, I'm not expert either, this is just from memories of pics in books 'n
stuff.

I'm a 2/5 Norwegian person. ;)

The only horns they could use would be goat or bison or something like that.
Which is entirely possible. I believe the myths stated the horns were Troll
horns, but I'm not sure.

Not to quibble... I lied, I am quibbling... Vikings didn't have horns on their
helmets. It's a myth, propogated by Wagnerian operas. Or the Pork Industry.
A "realistic" LEGO Viking helmet would be more in line with the archer/spearman
type helmets from older sets, I think (1).
Eric "the 1/4 Swedish person" Lind
(1) I am by no means an expert on this, but most of my reading supports the
non-horned Viking helmet position (2).
(2) Not to be confused with the lotus position or the fetal position.

That was the first and only thing that came to my mind while looking at those
hats ;-)
But I don't 'do' Vikings :-)

They had a whole bunch of 6748 Boulder Cliff Canyon ($29.99) here at TRU
Hawaii. Also KBKids Hawaii have a lot of 6097 Knight Lords Castle ($44.99),
6766 Rapid River Village ($39.99).

Heh...I shoulda bought the three I saw this evening, then. Those and the three
Bandit's Hideouts. Maybe I'll go back...
It was a good day, though--two 6958 Android Bases at a PA TRU, hidden behind
endless Planetary Prowlers...plus a few 6155s and a 6079 Dark Forest Fortress.

Toys-backwards-are-Us was a sealed (with those little pieces of tape on the
lower right & left hand sides) 6748, Boulder Cliff Canyon, in apparently
perfect condition. I waved it under the scanner, and it came up $30--$10 off
MSRP! I opened the flip top and it looked like all the pieces were intact,
nothing missing from the plastic tray, and the bags looked intact on top of the
baseplate, so I tucked it under my arm and went off to the checkout counter

Thanks Larry for the heads up about DYA. I guess my quirky little webtv+
was having problems accessing the Dya site... I thought I missed out. I was
able to contact Emmanuel and make sure he had 1 I could order...I would try
to trade you for it, but you have all the sets I have and more...I have a
ton of spare parts, but none that you are looking for.
Thank you

What, is he sold out already? He had bunches, I thought. Sure, email me
your offer. Reminder, I was getting well over 100 a piece for them on
eBay. if trading is what you want to do, take a look at my parts wanted
list, what I want most right now off that list is technic 1x2 bricks,
plates of all sizes, technic 2x8 plates and the entire list, but in grey
instead of black...
