Here’s some Day 1 pictures of the world record US flag build attempt at the 2005
OC Fair.
With the flag pole reaching high into the sky (or so it seems!), we’re ready to
start.
Jeff Elliott and David Michon confirm that the starter course of the first
stripe built from the green/yellow stripe pattern fits properly over the steel
reinforcing pipe.
Multi-tasking Susan Michon, David Michon, and Jeff Elliott lower stripe #2 into
prosition.
Jeff Elliot completes additions to top of Stripe #3 to accept the next stripe
(we topped each stripe with tiles and alignment bricks to make addition and
removal of each stripe easy).

pictures.
Goal for the day: 3 stripes and no sunburn.
Actual accomplishment: 4 stripes, 2 starter courses, and no sunburn.
