Hi All,

Yes it’s been 12 days and I never knew how much I could miss my long distance friends! I could write a book on the topic... anyway...

Each and everyone that was at the show deserves a huge thanks for all the hard work that went into the construction of yet another NMRA NTS ass kicking layout! This includes all the physical labor, mental stress, financial costs, and time away from family and work!

There are some special thanks in order (by category):

Jeremy Spurgeon - layout designer & assistant coordinator

Paul Janssen - on site assistant & ad hoc PR

Matt Bieda - local transportation implementation

John Neal - tee shirt design and sales

Chris Forbes-Nicotera - pizza party catering

Kevin Salm - pizza party LEGO gift coordination

Larry Pieniazek - Dirty Brickster++ MC

Christina Hitchcock - pizza party setup & tear down

Geoff Gray - catering transportation

Steve Witt (LEGO) - pizza party financier

Denise Jadud - pre-show logistics

And all the extraverted AFOLs that hung outside the layout and talked until they were horse!

There were many wonderful “LEGO moments” at the show... I know I had several (at least 6, but who’s counting)!!! We certainly introduced Steve Witt to a “weekend in a life” of an AFOL at a train show. I also hope that the local clubs got to know each other better and maybe recruited some fresh blood!

Now let’s do the numbers*...

Number of element = 2,000,000,000,000,001 (2,000,000,000,000,000 in ‘05)

Number of hours to build all the MOCs = 1,000,001 (1,000,000 in ‘05)

But seriously...

Number of clubs = 9 (13 in ‘05)

Total AFOL attendees = 59 (74 in ‘05)

Total square feet = 1850 (2425 in ‘05)

Over all layout space = 90’x100’ (70’x90’ in ‘05)

Gate count = 21,000 (~19,000 in ‘05)

“*” with the help of Paul and Jeremy

SteveB
