  Re: Franchising Spamcake?

To All, (...) Neat idea. I was also thinking of maybe having something to illustrate all the different clubs in our little collective here. I rememer that train show thing from Califronia, where everyone submitted a box car. Maybe we can have (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Franchising Spamcake?

As we at the GMLTC rebuild our layout and create a whole new town section, I had an idea which I thought would be pretty fun. Wouldn't it be fun to build a Spamcake Diner on the GMLTC layout? Then I thought: wouldn't it be fun if the Spamcake Diner (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

All LUG's/LTC's with registered domains - Especially those at Pair Networks!

All, While visiting the Pair Networks Website ( www.pair.com ) recently I found they have recently started their own Domain Registration Service call PairNIC ( www.pairnic.com ). Their prices are very good running from between $19 for 1 year to as (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.org, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) In the 7777 Idea book, they use colored 1x2 tiles to identify track power, as well as swicth-track controls and point-motors. :-) You can use colored tiles between the rails for track control, or 1x2 sloped bricks (back to back, beside the (...)   Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) Heheh - I recall making a color-coded diagram that showed each zone and it's controller; Can't see to recall where it got to though... 8-) SRC L#765 (24 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Forming a Southern California Lego Train Club

I'm aware many of you have heard this somewhere, sometime, before but on Saturday, March 24, in Mission Viejo CA, there will be a very important meeting held. One that I and other like myself hope will finally get the Southern California Lego Train (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) Steve is neglecting to mention that the zoning worked very well, and was a heck of a crowd pleaser, especially the 'high-speed' line down the front of the layout. The only thing I'd do differently next time is label the controllers. I was (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) If that's true (IMO it's not) there's no reason for it to be the case. Consider: (URL) simple interconnected double-loop like what Michel designed for GETS last fall. As long as you run the inner and outer loops in the same direction, trains (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) Based on advice from others here on large layouts, I laid-out our layout at Supertrain2001 with FIVE different controllers and speed zones. Where each section met mechanically, it was isolated electrically with two little pieces of black (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Pictures from NGLTC layout at Atlanta NMRA show

(...) Sorry about that. I only found out recently that when I use "webmail" off my server that it was adding a "usi" onto the front of my email address. 23rd National LGBMRRC Convention, July 10-14, Atlanta, GA. You have to be a LGBMRRC Member to (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Pictures from NGLTC layout at Atlanta NMRA show

Katie, I tried to reply to your email you sent me last week about this, but it kept bouncing back. What is this "Model Train Convention", I haven't heard anything about such an event this summer. I'll have to ask around tonight at the monthly (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Pictures from NGLTC layout at Atlanta NMRA show

(...) The pictures are GREAT! Several friends and I are hoping that we can catch your club in action while we are in Atlanta for 6 days in July at a Model Train convention. Katie (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  NGTLC postcard

I just got a copy of the post card that LEGO sent out to help promote the show the NGLTC is doing this weekend, it looks pretty good.   Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) It may well be easier if they don't interconnect! If you have two independent loops, each with a storage siding (one train running the circuit, one train waiting in the siding), it becomes very awkward when someone decides to move a train (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) You *want* to make it hard to get into the center, keep the crowd out. Shows I have been at, we just crawl under the tables. Not very dignified but it's what everyone does. (...) Either technique will work. Just don't run your controllers full (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) Crawling under tables is possibly the best option, unless some hinger can be developed, but thats quite complicated, and I'm not sure how fancy our tabling arrangements may be. Bearing in mind that the lego cruves are fixed, providing a (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains.org)
