  Re: A Technic Train

Nifty work there! It definetly looks fun, and makes me want to get some of those wheels. Without a differential, does it suffer on curves(1)? The only work around I can think of would be to only power one side of each axle, or put the gearing the (...) (18 years ago, 8-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Controlling trains with NXT?

As some of you are probably aware, there are people who use DCC controls that allow them to operate two trains independantly on the same stretch of track. This system, however, requires that you hack open motor bogeys to install the DCC control (...) (17 years ago, 21-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: monorail maintenance?

(...) Monorail trains just run slow. Just how slow depends on your perspective. I just ran two sets of monorail at the NASM (National Air and Space Museum) yesterday. The new monorail set I just acquired last weekend seemed to move a bit faster than (...) (17 years ago, 22-Apr-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Brick-built hopper

Hello all, I've finally decided to buy one of my LDD train models. To be more specific, I bought the sodium-chloride hopper that was the winner in the freight rolling stock category on the save.9vtrains.com contest. It isn't exactly the same one as (...) Man, LEGO trainheads used to live in a thriving community worldwide with multiple clubs coming together and displaying larger than life train layouts at least once per year and then LEGO stopped making 9v trains... (...) Chris, Thanks for the reply explaining what has happened. That was very helpful. I think the Hobby Trains are great - it would be nice to see other designs/LDD files using the same parts. David (17 years ago, 10-May-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Seriously, though, it is entirely possible to run LEGO trains outside (our club has been involved in three separate outdoor displays that I know of, two of which I've participated (...)   Re: The Future of Trains

Chris brings home a good point. 9V is what it is, probably because of the powered rails. No other LEGO Train system has that.
