Here's possibly another good (IMO) reason for ballasting: using tiles and
occasional 1x1's, you should be able to fasten down curve tracks. Even on
"plywood and baseplates" setups.

| (...) Check out Matt's Train Depot for more ideas on how to do this. The 2x2 turntables work quite well, the GMLTC uses them whenever possible. (URL) GMLTC (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)
