Hello everyone,
In the past I have critiqued your wonderful models, well now you have a turn
completely burn/flame/ what ever you want to call it, my model.

Well I've never seen you do that, because I just started reading this group.  I
like the model, but I have a few constructive criticisms...

I KNOW ITS TO SHORT LARRY ! THE GREY SLOPED ROOF BRICKS ARE HARD TO
COME BY IN MY COLLECTION! ;)

Glad you acknowledge it...if you are displaying this in a show it would be nice
to grab a few more slopes and make it about 6 studs longer.

A few other points -

- maybe change the rear side vents into the 1x2 corrugated bricks in black
versus headlight bricks with grilles attached.  Add some vents along the middle
top too, as shown in the HO (?) model.
- Add circular fan vents on the top of the model.  Use either 4x4 turntables in
black, those 4x4 SW round bricks that come in the Y-wing, etc (if they make them
in black) or if those are too large 2x2 plates/tiles, maybe decorated tiles.
- Color detailing - check angles and colors - there's a black spot not shown
right after the yellow front on the top, I can't tell if that's a vent or a
painted block from the picture.
- If you had another two yellow airplane windows, you could make the front door.
- What do you feel about decals?  I don't know exactly how to print decals on
decal sheets, or if that's the route you want to go, but a VIA logo and the
numbers on the front would look sharp on the model.

Nice work, I'm just picky :-)  I love attention to detail on models... keep it
up!

-Tim

(...) In general I hold that busyness adds even if it's not exactly correct. So I'd keep the bricks with grilles as they add more texture than the corro. It's not "correct" for grilles to stick out that much, but it is "pleasant" which matters more. (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)
