| The other day I finally noticed that the base of an SD40-2 is not the same on both sides. On the side with the bulge that contains the blower, the base is thick, and it thins out just after reaching the rear truck. On the other side, the base is the (...) | (...) Jeff, Just trying to get this straight in my head. With the short hood forward, the engineer's side is the left side, and the fireman's side is the right side. With the long hood forward, the sides are reversed; kinda like driving your car (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)
