I'm not sure about old Conrail practice or caboose layout, but on all
the NS cabooses we have around here the chairs in each half of the
cupola actually face each other. This way when you're sitting in one
chair, you can reach your legs across and rest your feet on the
opposite one and still have a good view of where you are going, or
where you have been. I've heard rumors that you can bridge the gap in
the chairs with something and take a nap up there, but thats nothing
that I'd personally know anything about.
The one interior shot of the N-20 caboose at:
http://crcaboose.railfan.net/classes/N-20.htm
seems to indicate that its layout is similar. The steps/ladder seem to
enter in between the chairs in each half of the cupola.
Other then that small nit-pick, great interior details.

This looks great also. I love the handrail and still step design.

| (...) Actually, the big thing I did that does not agree with the pictures of the N-20's that I have seen is that I put the chimney on the long side of the caboose. All the pictures I saw have the chimney on the short side. Oh well. By the way, I (...) (24 years ago, 30-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)
