I like it very much, hope you pick it up and make more cars and perhaps a
new version with the improvements you mentioned in your post. :-)

Great! I recognised it immediately (I travel a lot in the 'real thing') Also
the 1700 series engine looks great!

Yeah, I also hoped for a yellow soccer bus... I already had plans to use
them... now I have changed my LEGO train company's colour scheme to blue
with white windows...

The most of today's double deck cars in the Netherlands have blue windows
too

(BTW. the engine on that picture is nicknamed 'buffalo')

Actually the 'hondekop' train origionally doesn't have the blue windows. The
origional cars for this train has the yellow/blue slanted stripes scheme.
The dogface trains today also pull the newer cars with the blue horizontal
stripe.

The blue windows are used in the 'koploper' (headrunner) ICM train and all
the newer cars:

A nice train to model especially when you build more to 'couple' the
engines:

Erik has a prototype on his page... Dunno if a completed model was build? I
would be interested to see it!
A nice picture of the 'hondkop' and ICM next to eachother:

hmm... good source of inspiration that picture gallery :-)

| (...) If ever I can afford to buy multiple blue soccer busses, then this is a possibility because I really like the "buffalo" train set! (...) Thank you. I think my version of the 1700 engine is too short, but LEGO modeling suggests compression. (...) (24 years ago, 10-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)
