I have just completeed my version of an ALCO-like diesel switcher and have
some questions...

1.Does it matter which end I put the power truck on?(mine is rear wheel drive)

I do not think so.

2.My large(three unit) gas turbine locomotive has four(4)motors.Does anyone
think this will overwork the single power pack?

I do not run my trains for long periods of time, but I have done four motors on 1
power supply. I didn't notice any problems

3.I use Rail Zip to clean the track,It's an excellent cleaner, but make sure
to wipe all the residue away before operating trains, anybody else thought of
this?

Nope, never thought of that. If I clean my track I usually just use a rag, but I
do not often clean my track. The track always works so well that I forget that
there may be some dirt on the rails.

4.I also switched to dummy headlights, they look better to me but want to know
if others find this acceptable also.

I think that you will find that most people use dummy headlights. Adding real
headlights is like adding an extra little treat.

Hey, get pictures of those models and find some web space! I cannot offer any
space, but I could scan pictures for you if you can't.

Chris

P.S. I do not have that many engine designs (and only one of them is still
together), but you can check out the engines I made at

http://cmasi.chem.tulane.edu/~lego/trains/Engine%20gallery/engine_gallery.htm

Only two of them have/had working headlights.
