Frank,

Thanks for posting this picture.  What did the passenger coaches look like?

I'm pretty excited by the loco pictured.  I think I have a Marklin model of
this steam engine.  All my Marklin stuff is at my parent's home now, but it is
soon to be delivered to me at the begining of June.  I will then check if my
Marklin model is indeed of the DB 23 071 variety.  It has been a long time
since I've seen it.  The wheel arrangement on the engine and the tender looks
to be the same, as well as the aero-deflector fins up front.  I guess many
engines have these similar features, but the likeness is very very close, if
not exact.

Thanks for posting the photo!!  I bet the ride was glorious  :-)

To keep this LEGO related...maybe I'll try to model that steamer...with LEGO
bricks.  ;-)

James Mathis

Hi,

On the stretch Eindhoven - Den Bosch in the Netherlands the track is doubled
from 2 to 4 tracks with a new station in Best. To celebrate the opening of the
station today, the first train to stop at it was steamloc (model DB 23 071, a
2-6-2 loc in the classic black-red Deutsche Bahn colours
http://home.wanadoo.nl/a.pragt/23-1.jpg ) complete with dark green classic
passenger coaches!
It was real cool to go to the office (I work in Best) in a steam powered
train!

I know it has nothing to do with LEGO but I'm so excited so I had to post it!
