   I think that SNOT is a malformed acronym then... We have been using derogatory acronyms to exemplify parts that we dislike because they aren't true to the spirit of Lego. Now, I would say a part like the 1x1 with side stud, or a part like the (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

   Gee, when you said Studs Not On Top I thought your were refering to a building style; using bricks in a way that their studs are not on top where they should be. For example mounting bricks sideways so the studs are hidden or point out instead of (...) (25 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

   (...) Ya know, I never thought of it (the acronym) that way, but that's a very decent angle (1) as well -- and very closely related to SNOTs as pieces, to boot. Perhaps a better acronym would indicate an aversion to stud-oriented thinking, or an (...) (25 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)
