I hope my message doesn't imply that I simply base value on money - the
7740 is my favorite Lego train of all time - I wouldn't sell mine for
$500.  The prices I mentioned are just observations of how much these
items typically go for in auctions (nothing official at all).

Grahame,

You would be a candidate for the Lego Hall of Shame thread on r.t.l. if
you didn't buy this!  I've put approximate values (according to TM) for
some of these sets in your message:

I have been offered the following sets which I believe are in used but excellent
condition:

7740  Inter-City Train
$500

7725  Electric Train
$250

7864  Transformer ( 220V )
$50

7857  Electric Crossing
7866  Level Crossing
7814  Breakdown Crane
7824  Station
$150

7821  Maintenance Wagon
7819  Mail Van • $125

Plus points, lights and lots of extra track.

Trouble is I don't have any of the 12V Train sets but I am 9V complete. Should I
buy? Price is 300 USD. I am going to see the sets this afternoon.
