Do decals come off?

So, I have been thinking about using some Conrail decals, and I
understand that you soak them in water, float them off their backing,
and float them onto the train. The big question is, are they easy to get
off? Can you just soak the decal off after it has been applied? Does
using something like Solva-set (sp?) make it more difficult to remove
the decals?

| Decals that have had nothing sprayed on them should come off fine if you soak them long enough. They adhere with a water based adhesive. Solvaset basically softens the plastic enough to get it to conform to irregular surfaces, so you SHOULD still be (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)

| If you go to the Hobby Store and talk to one of the knowledgeable individuals they will point you in the direction of I believe "easy off" by Polly Scale. I've had my can for almost 5 years and can remove decals that have been on for years or cover (...) (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains)
