I also never really liked this set, until I got one (on sale of course!), • it
does sort of grow on you.  I had to LOL at the 'black box' included in the
engine (which, yes, does need a lot of reworking. But that's what LEGO is
all about, eh?).

I remember wondering what the sets designers were thinking when they covered
up the printed tiles in that "black box."  And you're right...that engine
really needs help!  Even with all that this really is a nice set.

The thousands and thousands of instruction sheets can be annoying thou.

Don't remind me. Setl like this are what Brickshelf was designed for :-)

It does make a nice addition to a layout.

Or a nice start to one.
