  Re: QR Class 2800 redux

(...) Indeed you did, as credited in the original post. Fortunately with another two and a half years of public use the range of pictures of the 2800s available online is broad which allowed me to make up for the loss of the original prototype (...)   Re: QR Class 2800 redux

(...) Great work Tim version 2 looks so much better can't wait to see the loco in brick, in particular the cab redesign makes a more realistic model, I always find it good to go back and tweek a model as you can add details that you may have missed (...)   Re: QR Class 2800 redux

(...) Tim two and a half years ago I prototyped your original for real remember and I sent you the pictures of the new color scheme correct?? Well the old version runs on the track this version won’t guaranteed. You really should not have gone to (...) (17 years ago, 12-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: RichLug Display at VA Aviation Museum 2008

(...) I loaded photos from the Aviation Museum show on brickshelf several days ago and am just getting around to posting. Here's a link to my favorite photo entitled: Virginia State Capitol in the year 2525.   Re: Trains, DCC, and pbForth

I realize this thread is kinda old but ...does anyone know if Chris Phillips ever made his TrainLab software available? I have tried a few times to contact Chris without any success. I have been looking into automating my train layouts and would (...) (17 years ago, 11-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth, FTX)

  Shea on BrickShelf

Hi All, I was trolling BrickShelf and found this image of a Shea. (URL) = (URL) recently built one and built the full articulation and operating piston etc... it was a huge undertaking that I was NOT 100% successful at (pics to come, if I can find (...) (17 years ago, 10-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Double articulated locomotive

(...) Thanks (...) With 4x4 turntables (in red) and macaroni bricks (in yellow) The middle part hangs between the two motors on the two 4x4 turntables. If I have some time next week I'll make some pictures in a curve and of the articulation. Niels (17 years ago, 10-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Double articulated locomotive

(...) Thanks Neils, it looks very nice and retro :) How did you do the articulation? (17 years ago, 10-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Double articulated locomotive

I finaly found the time and bricks to build a double articulated locomotive I started to build about half a year ago. It's a sixteen wheeled beast with two engines. I haven't tried it running, but according to the first tests with the chassis it (...) (17 years ago, 9-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: San Diego Coaster train

(...) Thanks John, I plan to bring it and a SD Sprinter (URL), along with a few other California specific trains to the NMRA show. They still need decals (17 years ago, 8-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Elements on Factory?

(...) Normally it will tell you if there is an update when you start it. If you don't install it, it wont use any online data. (17 years ago, 8-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: San Diego Coaster train

(...) Awesome job Mathew! The color scheme turned out great and is instantly recognizable. I hope I'll get to see the MOC in person at the NMRA show this summer. (17 years ago, 7-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) If it's any help, (URL) this torso DAT file> already contains borders which leave a nice rectangular opening in the front. Just delete everything that follows those lines and you may have an easier time adapting your images to fit the (...) (17 years ago, 7-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) Thanks Steve, I took your recommendation and tried Quad2Dat. I can see what you mean about it being buggy (and incomplete). It is too bad development on it didn't continue it seems to have a lot of potential. For simple images I can see it (...) (17 years ago, 7-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) My understanding is that you need to save often, with changing filenames. It apparently sometimes crashes during save after it has already clobbered the file. --Travis (17 years ago, 7-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

(...) Neat! (...) For further work on custom torsos, I recommend grabbing the program called Quad 2 Dat. This is a fairly easy 2D program, made specifically for people creating LDraw patterned parts. The main problem with Quad2Dat is that it's (...) (17 years ago, 6-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

  Custom Minifig Torso DAT files.

I have been working at creating some custom Minifig Torso DAT files for LDraw. I should preface everything by saying that I am NOT an LDraw Parts author. All of these were created by essentially taking a plain torso file and applying these like a (...) (17 years ago, 6-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX) !

  Re: New Elements on Factory?

Does anyone know how often new Factory parts trickle down to Digital Designer. Do we have to wait for a new version of LDD or can it be updated? (17 years ago, 6-Apr-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
