Really? I don’t see the connection here, Eric. Why would TLG equate the success of this set with an endorsement of the 9 volt system? I’d like to think that there is some definitive way to express this sentiment, but I don’t see how in this case, or any case, except the flat out purchasing of 9volt track, motors, and transformers, and, of course, sets that contain those particular elements. And even then, they might have already made the decision to discontinue 9volt anyway, and would be grateful for the help reducing excess inventory of discontinued product.

(...) Eric might have more info on this than I do, but from what I can tell, TLG is marketing this set as part of the 9v system, so purchasing this set would show an interest in that system. I know last night when I hit the Shop at Home site to (...) (18 years ago, 12-Mar-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) Because Lego notices the distinct markets of toy trains and hobby trains. The toy train market is for kids, the hobby trains are for adults. I was one of 6 folks picked to review set 10183 pre-release. We were given permission to start posting our reviews today. Actually Brick Journal got an exclusive for the weekend but the rest of us are posting starting today. My review can be found (...)
