I ran a test ofthe old wheel set verse the new wheeel set. I built a simple box car and loaded it with eight train weights. It had one truck made of ald wheel sets and one truck made of new wheel sets. I put it on a train in our museum layout that ran the trains seven days a week for five hours a day. After one week I compared the two trucks and could not find any difference between them wear wise or friction wise. Not very scientific, but I am not worried about the new wheel sets after this test.
