Hi!

This is a model of a railbus from the firm of a certain Mr Hilding Carlsson, who produced a great many railcars in Sweden between the 30’s and 60’s. Most of them had this characteristic look with the fronts leaning inwards.

The particular class that I’ve modelled is Yo1s, which was the third variant of boogie railcars for normal gauge. This class had a comparatively high and wide body; its proportions were closer to a normal train than to an autobus. So I’ve done it in 8-wide just like my other train models.

The “Remove the Roof (TM)” feature provides for easy access to the interior, which accomodates driver plus nine passengers and a fully functional water closet.

Step by step building instructions are offered, although nothing fancy as I haven’t been able to get the rendering tool chain to work under Linux.

Credits:

James Mathis and Timothy Gould. for the snot solution with part 50746

Puntcom’s Schweineschnaeuzchen railcar for general inspiration.

Although I am not Swedish (I'm Dutch) I could understand most of the book. I do like the design of (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) I'm so glad Niels reminded me of this. I saw it briefly while I was on holidays and was going to respond when I came back but forgot :( I really like the design of this railcar. It's got lots of neat SNOT in it but nothing excessive. I (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
