  SpeedRail TGV Thalys

Hi all, Ran across some photos of this train ((URL) 1>, (URL) 2>, (URL) 3>, (URL) 4>) the other day and thought it rather neat: a Thalys TGV in different colours. The real thing was to run between Sydney and Canberra but cost too much so never (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

  Re: Small town building reference

(...) An awesome ref. It also has a lot of good bridge and dam related images, drawings and so forth, I've been relying on it for some of the Wikipedia articles I've done lately. (19 years ago, 21-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Small town building reference

(...) Here's another resource I stumbled upon - a Library of Congress collection of pictures of buildings all across America, from the present going back to the 30's: (URL) Historic American Buildings Survey/Historic American Engineering Record> (...)   Re: ILTCO layout at the NMRA 2006 National Train Show in Philly

Hi All, Below is a list of the clubs that have indicated that they are participating in the Philly show this summer. I know many of the clubs at last year’s show talked about doing it again, so if your club is NOT listed below and you plan to be (...)   The City of Manchester, a private trolley car

I am happy to announce that I finished my first 8-wide trolley car. This trolley car was designed as a prototype for the LEGO Millyard project hosted at the SEE Science Center. Hopefully, its twin will spend the rest of its days running around the (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jan-06, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Make tracks in LDraw

(...) You may try my program LTrax if you like. It's just semi-finished, but works just fine. I stopped developing this program due to the release of TrackDraw, which is far more professional than I can perform. (URL) (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Make tracks in LDraw

(...) Hi Jaco, You can also download 'LDraw Design Pad' from (URL) install the add-in 'Plugin Track Generator ' from Niels Karsdorp. With this plug-in can you also chose for old 4,5V track, 12V track and 9V track. The circle (ldraw file)is created (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: NY Subway train

(...) Thanks Adrian (and Calum too) Interestingly enough I already have a start on a Paris Metro train (begun before the NY one) with rubber wheels. Probably a similar system to Montreal's. I'm waiting until I can find a special part to test (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Make tracks in LDraw

(...) Wow...you're right and it makes it a simple five-second job. Thanks for the tip! Martin (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Make tracks in LDraw

(...) I was almost there my self, but it is indeed a puzzle to rotate the pieces. I also got a file from Mike Gallagher, whom I wish to thank also! Jaco (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Make tracks in LDraw

(...) I thought of that too. I took al look at www.trackdraw.com, but could not figure out where to download any kind of program. (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Make tracks in LDraw

(...) I believe another way to go is use TrackDraw to draw a circle and have it output the Ldraw file... could be wrong. (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

Re: Has anyone thought of this?

(...) Ah, yes, okay, cool. I didn't follow you closely enough-- I only parsed the "integrate train axles into the technic" part. Ross is working on some new electric power system but he's hit the wall in terms of interest in the project and I fear (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Has anyone thought of this?

(...) Yeah but the ones on the motor (that do the actual driving) have rubber rings. Until they get worn down. So I guess it's not an issue for non-driven wheels, but your example suggested you're thinking about using them for driving too. ROSCO (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Has anyone thought of this?

(...) Yes, I know this too. In fact my first choice WAS the 2x2 round plate for this same reason, and I didn't think of it as being as good for the same reason. But it can easily be greebled up externally by bogie detailing, and be made to look (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Make tracks in LDraw

(...) It took me a while to figure out the angle and a rotation point, but here you go. (URL) Dean Earley, Dee (dean@earlsoft.co.uk) irc: irc://irc.blitzed.org/ web: (URL) +44 (0)780 8369596 (19 years ago, 20-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

Re: Has anyone thought of this?

(...) I think you're gonna have a couple of problems with it: The 2x2 round parts don't always attach very strongly to the flange parts - and as they carry the weight and provide the traction, they will probably be prone to falling off unless you (...)
