Re: Who turned out the lights?

(...) I'm hoping the light brick will be in the Lego Train Factory palette. Too many different track pieces would be uneconomical on a large scale because the market is too small. I would like curves of radii 72 and 104 studs though, to replace my (...) (19 years ago, 5-Oct-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Who turned out the lights?

Mayby Lego is listening too much to people asking Lego to get back to their core business and produce plastic bricks, and nog Lego is just doing that: getting back to their core business and produce only plastic bricks and discarding all metal (...) (19 years ago, 5-Oct-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Who turned out the lights?

(...) I emailed LEGO and they confirmed it to be true. I also emailed Jake, but have gotten no response. No new track geometry in 6 years (gasp!) and now this. Sheesh, my son makes better layouts with his Thomas tracks than I can with LEGO. Really, (...) (19 years ago, 5-Oct-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Who turned out the lights?

(...) That light piece has been sold in different accessory sets. For example, when I bought my first 9v lights they didn't come with the reflector piece. Let us hope that the accessory set in questions is being replaced with another set. Chris (19 years ago, 4-Oct-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Motorized Maintenance Truck

(...) I tried running it through a couple of switchpoints last night. It had a little bit of trouble. I haven't noticed any problems with ramps or bridges though, other than some slipping of the tyres. I think using older tyres that are a little (...) (19 years ago, 3-Oct-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Model Show (and 2005) wrap up

Well, M>ltc just completed our last show for 2005, and our last show with the current layout. You can see some details of the layout from the </announce/?n=2920 Pakenham show> earlier in the year, this weekends layout was basically the same, except (...)   Stretch Limo Caboose

I’m always amused by limo companies trying to outdo each other with longer, more exotic limousines. Since I’m new to the LEGO train world, and wanted to build a train MOC, I decided to build a stretch limo caboose! (URL) stretch limo caboose (...)   Motorized Maintenance Truck

A few months ago I had a Lego electric cable ((URL)) get cut. This left me with two half cables. Somehow I got the idea that if I stripped the insulation off, I could use one of the broken bits to power a technic motor off from a train track. I (...)   Re: Motorized microscale train

(...) A second alternative to specialized chain links -- and one I haven't tried yet -- would be Technic link-arms and pins, threaded around large-diameter tires. The magnet-holders can then be pinned vertically, and the curves in the "track" aren't (...) (19 years ago, 29-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: Interesting train on BS

(...) Actually I'm planning a different train altogether but a lack of red windows (and funds to do something about that) made me change my plan... As Jan Albert said it's a post train. They were used in the Netherlands until about 1997. Dutch (...) (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Switch points stiffening...

Hello Dave, (...) As far as I know, this comes from the friction between plastic parts. Each friction removes a very little bit of plastic at each movement and leaves that white plastic dust on the moving parts. I reduced this problem by lowering (...) (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Switch points stiffening...

I'm not sure if it's from overuse or from something else, but some of my wye points are not sliding as smoothly as they used to when the train is coming into the wye from the curve. I actually have to have the switch point in the proper position or (...) (19 years ago, 28-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains)
